This series has been so emotional. Dunbar made me cry on a couple occasions which is hard to do! By the time most of us have made it out of our 20s we have a list of things in our lives that didn’t go well. This story is about two people that dated as teens and are rising from the ashes of their previous lives. Gavin is finding purpose after a career-ending injury in professional baseball. Britton’s life changed pace after her dance career ended in a surprise pregnancy and her husband died of cancer. Britton is finding her way in Elk Lake City owning her own tea shop. Britton is moving on after she’s lost much, but she has her son, Gee. When circumstances bring Gavin and Britton together again it’s fireworks. I loved the heat in this story. I always get lost in Dunbar’s writing and I’m a big fan of this series. I didn’t read it before it was rewritten. I highly recommend you give the Heart Collection some attention. I’ve fallen in love with this community and its people. Spend a few hours with Gavin and Britton. You’ll be a fan, too! 4.5 stars
