This was a vampire and werewolf romance wrapped into one! Thalia is almost priceless because she has golden blood. In a world where humans are downtrodden, she will be set for life after obtaining a contract with a prominent vampire. (Although, that life will be shortened because of the toll being a Blood Maiden takes.) Konstantin, a powerful vampire, wants her because he wants to rule Karthia. King Drogo, a Lycan, is dying. Thalia is his only chance at retaining his role as king. Thalia finds herself in unexpected circumstances. She thought she wanted one thing, but Drogo’s offer is an attractive one. Claiming Thalia had some great fight scenes! I always love that about Abel’s books. The intricate plot surprised me on several occasions. I’ve got to say I loved Drogo and Thalia together. I’m a sucker for shifter romance and werewolves are at the top of my list! I’m looking forward to more in this series! 4 stars
