Such a great story! Veral is an Argurma who travels around to different planets scavenging minerals and artifacts. He is accompanied by his dorashnal, Krono. Krono is basically his pet. Veral preferred to keep himself seperate from his homeworld. He has a reputation as a vicious fighter and unmatched salvager. Terri is just a young woman trying to survive amid the ruins of Phoenix, AZ. Her goal is to sneak enough food to stay alive and to avoid being captured by the Red Reaper Gang. She longs to travel to a stronghold on the west coast in California that she’s heard about. I enjoyed Terri’s character because she comes across as a strong woman. In fact, Terri comes to Veral’s aid after befriending his pet, Kronos. She hopes that Veral will give her transportation to the coast.
This book was fantastic! Broken Earth is a page-turner that really kept the action going. Veral is really a quite forbidding character when you first meet him. He takes some time to warm up to Terri. When he does, though, it’s quite hot and seductive. This hot alien looks like an alien and the cover is AMAZING! I really look forward to hearing more about this couple. I’d love to see a novella about them and I can’t wait for another story in this series! 5 stars
